Theatre Alberta is proud to partner with the Professional Association of Canadian Theatres (PACT), Stage Left Productions, and the Ad Hoc Assembly (AHA) to deliver a theatre-specific equity and diversity training program—ALL IN—to incite radical inclusive change in theatre companies across the province.
In conjunction with this program, the organizations are convening Affinity Gatherings in Edmonton and Calgary.
CALGARY – April 5, 1-5pm
Morpheus Theatre Society
3512 5 Ave NW
EDMONTON – April 11, 5-9pm
Fringe Theatre’s ATB Financial Arts Barns in the Westbury Theatre Boardroom/Lobby.
10330 84 Avenue NW.
Centring the voices of Indigenous and culturally diverse communities in this region, the gathering will engage with local artists to identify barriers/resources and strengthen their practice through the exchange of knowledge and experience.
Ad Hoc Assembly will facilitate conversations and enable direct actions in the context of PACT’s All In initiative to ensure artists from formerly marginalized communities can voice their needs on their own behalf and part of a collective action. A focus for this gathering is how we can create momentum individually and in solidarity across Turtle Island.
We welcome settler arts practitioners who identify as members of an equity-seeking cultural community (i.e. Deaf, disabled, Trans, gender non-conforming, neuro-diverse, etc).
